Scene writing is storytelling at its purest form. Although this class will be particularly relevant to short-form storytellers who work in commercials, shorts, gaming and comedy sketches, everyone will benefit from the micro-focus on craft. The skill to turn a dramatic situation sharply so that the audience feels with certainty a new and opposite situation is one of the most fundamental and important skills in screenwriting. If you can’t “turn” a line of dialogue, how are you going to “turn” your second act into the third act? Most recently, Jim completed his manuscript The Craft of Scene Writing, the first-ever screenwriting book that focuses solely on scene writing. It will be published by Quill Driver Press later this year.
