Mike Betette currently writes and directs for Epic Rap Battles of History, for which he won a Streamy.

Mike’s expertise is in comedy writing for both live performance and the web. He has written comedy for many web series’ and been a producer, writer and creative consultant for three improv game show pilots with CBS, Ryan Seacrest Productions, and Youtube. Additionally, Mike has been a story editor for a comedy competition reality show on TBS and co-created “ThisisMarkTwain@aol.com” for Mandatory.com.

Betette’s vast knowledge of comedy began in Chicago where he studied improv under John Lutz, Charna Halpern, Miles Stroth and more. His career launched when he became part of a successful sketch duo there. Mike has also performed sketch and comedy at several Sketchfests in Seattle, San Francisco and Chicago as well as at Montreal’s Just For Laughs. He has toured colleges with Mission IMPROVable and performed around the world on a cruise ship for The Second City. Appearances have been made in independent films (“Hitting The Nuts” and “A Strange Brand of Happy”) and on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Mike can be found teaching and performing at The Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica, California.
